OTHER INFO
Welcome to our Church:
We warmly welcome everyone to our church. We faithfully uphold the traditions handed down by the Holy Fathers in our holy services.
Participation in the Holy Mysteries of Christ:
If you are an Orthodox visitor, please seek the blessing of our priest before participating in the Holy Mysteries of Christ. Every Orthodox Christian should be prepared and carry a letter from their confessor (spiritual father) granting them permission to partake in Holy Communion. This letter can be sent via email and must confirm good canonical standing. Without this letter, you will not be permitted to receive Holy Communion, except for children under 9 years old.
Holy Communion Participation:
Holy Communion is reserved only for Orthodox Christians. All other visitors are welcome to attend the service but cannot participate in Holy Communion.
For any questions, please contact us via email at stcatherinelubbock@outlook.com or phone.
Dress Code:
Married women should wear dress and cover their heads with scarf (our parish will provide for one, if you don't carry one).
Men should not wear shorts.
Behavior in the Church:
We expect everyone, parishioners and visitors alike, to observe proper behavior. Please do not talk during services or disturb others unless it's an emergency. Chewing gum, bringing drinks, or food inside the chapel is not allowed.
Children in the Church:
If you are accompanied by children (babies or under 7yo), please let them feel safe and do not call their attention often (this will disturb the service and the other faithful), unless the priest or the altar servants say so. Children should feel safe and joyful during the services.
Social Life in the Church:
After every Sunday Divine Liturgy, we have a coffee hour in our trapeza (unless otherwise communicated). Please wait for the priest to bless the people and the food before eating.
Be respectful to everyone and always be thankful to God for His mercies upon you!
