Our Staff
In the Orthodox Church, the clergy and church staff play a vital role in the spiritual and administrative functions of the parish. The clergy hierarchy includes bishops, priests, and deacons, each with distinct responsibilities. Bishops oversee multiple parishes within a diocese, ensuring doctrinal purity and pastoral care. Priests, often referred to as pastors or parish priests, lead individual congregations, conducting services, sacraments, and providing spiritual guidance. Deacons assist priests in liturgical services and various parish duties.
Beyond the ordained clergy, church staff often include chanters and choir directors, who lead the congregation in traditional Orthodox chants. Readers may also be appointed to read scripture during services. Laypeople often serve in administrative roles, such as parish council members, treasurers, and secretaries, helping manage the church's operations, finances, and community outreach programs. Together, these individuals create a cohesive team dedicated to fostering the spiritual growth and well-being of the Orthodox Christian community.
For that reason, in our parish, the rector is helped out by following people:
Reader Michael Mogan, acting secretary.
Warden Gregory Gittner
Choir Director Anna Ferrer
Treasurer Timothy Ferrer
